Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish actress and model. She made her debut in a Bond movie, A View to a Kill in the year 1985. In 1989 she played the archaeologist who was sympathetic to Nazis Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). A photographer approached Doody. Doody took up modelling that eventually led to a career in commercial modelling. Doody was adamantly against glamour and nude work a clause which was extended to her acting career. She was cast in a minor role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill when she was noticed by the director of casting. Doody is listed in John Willis Screen World's Vol. 3 as one of the 12 most promising actors of 1986. 38. Doody had just turned age 18 when she was given the character of Bond girl. She remains the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying featuring Mickey Rourke in 1987, was a film from the beginning where Doody played IRA Siobhan. Doody had a non-speaking role in the 1987 television film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in the movie of his dreams. She played Sapsorrow in an episode of Jim Henson's fable show The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The actress acted alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before taking possibly her most famous role in her career as Austrian Archaeologist and Nazi-sympathiser Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film, as Indy's dad. Doody was in the British series Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. The film was based on the Hitler Diaries publication scam. After moving to Hollywood Doody was a star. She starred as Flannery in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. Doody came back to acting in 2003, playing a small part in the British comedy The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at an awards ceremony. She starred along together with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. Doody had a minor role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Doody was a guest on RTE's the medical thriller The Clinic. The project was later canceled. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. The following year, she was on the show as Pam Jefferson on We Still Kill the Old Way. In November of 2018, she was honored by the Almeria tierra de cine award and she received a star in Almeria Walk of Fame.
